Mark Weller launches ‘Weller’ freelance esports and gaming services.
After over 24 years immersed in the esports and gaming world, and over 8 years, competing across the world as a full time esports professional I’m excited to officially launch my Freelance and Consulting services. This isn’t just a new chapter for me – it feels like the natural evolution of everything I’ve learned, built, and accomplished throughout my career.

My journey started where many of us do – as a player. Competing sparked a fire in me that eventually led to team ownership and management. Taking over a struggling esports team, I rolled up my sleeves, faced the challenges head-on, and turned that team around into one of the UK’s leading organizations. We didn't just survive; we thrived, catching the attention of some of the biggest brands in gaming. Delivering digital marketing activations for these major players opened my eyes to the broader opportunities in the industry.
I also had the honour of managing the British national team. Leading the team to secure 4 silver medals at the Global Esports Games and the European Games. And five medals for Esports England at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Competing at this level reinforced my belief in the power of esports to foster teamwork, dedication, and international collaboration.
From there, I joined the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One team, stepping into the role of Esports Programme Team Manager. Managing elite esports talent, driving value for partners, and engaging the community at the highest level was an incredible experience. I’ve seen first hand how impactful esports could be when aligned with world-class brands and high-performance teams.
Now, I’m taking all of that experience and channeling it into freelance and consulting work. I thrive on variety, and this path allows me to work with brands and agencies to craft exceptional experiences in the gaming and esports space. But it doesn’t stop there. I’m also passionate about supporting high-performing individuals, offering career advice, and creating opportunities for young people through educators looking to incorporate and harness the power of gaming into their ciriculum.
