Who’s Mark Weller?
Gaming has been a part of my life since I was six years old, starting with the Sega Game Gear and Sonic the Hedgehog. What began as a hobby eventually transformed into an incredible esports career where I have been actively involved for the past 24 years—eight of those as a full-time professional, competing at an elite level on the global stages.
After over 24 years immersed in the virtual world of esports and gaming, and over 8 years as full time esports professional I’m excited to officially launch my Freelance and Consulting services For Brands, Agencies, Educators and High Performing Individuals. This isn’t just a new chapter for me – it feels like the natural evolution of everything I’ve learned, built, and accomplished throughout my career.
My journey started where many of us do – as a player. After enjoying gaming as a form of entertainment and escapism, my eyes we’re opened to the competitive side of gaming after a car accident in my teens left me unable to participate in physical sports. Competing sparked a fire in me that eventually led to team ownership and management. Taking over a struggling esports team, I rolled up my sleeves, faced the challenges head-on, and turned that team around into one of the UK’s leading challenger brands. We didn't just survive; we thrived, catching the attention of some of the biggest brands in gaming. Delivering digital marketing activations for these major players opened my eyes to the broader opportunities in the industry.
My work caught the attention of the British Esports Federation where I was then selected as Team Manager for the British National Team. During this time I led teams across 3 Global Esports Games, 1 European Olympic committee sanctioned event and 1 Commonwealth Games Sanctioned event, helping to secure 1 Gold 7 Silvers and one bronze during my 3 year tenture.
From there, I joined the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One team, stepping into the role of Esports Team Manager. Helping shape the programme, managing elite esports talent, driving value for partners, and engaging the community at the highest level.
I’ve seen first hand how impactful esports and gaming can be when activated correctly and now, I’m taking all of that experience and helping you deliver. I thrive on variety, offer a range of services to help brands and agencies craft exceptional experiences in the gaming and esports space. But it doesn’t stop there. I’m also passionate about supporting high-performing individuals, offering career advice, and creating opportunities for young people through educators looking to incorporate and harness the power of gaming into their ciriculum.
I am deeply passionate about esports and gaming—not just as entertainment, but as a platform to develop soft skills, promote STEM subjects, and create opportunities for individuals from underprivileged backgrounds just like myself.
