A new start - Resignation from Vexed Gaming

After 6 years in the position, I'm stepping down as Chief Gaming Officer at Vexed Gaming.

I started this part of my journey in my early 20s, diving in head first to rebuild a brand I believed in from faltering into a sustainable operation.

My main objective has always been to support the British esports scene and I set out to provide a platform for staff and players to learn, grow and show the world what they were capable of. I also wanted to also give players opportunities that simply weren't available - or were extremely limited - in the UK, with other organisations looking to Europe for talent instead.

Vexed Gaming’s purpose is, and always has been, to scout, nurture and develop talent. We have aimed to find the diamonds in the rough, whilst operating sustainably, and I feel we’ve achieved that, with a large number of Vexed Alumni going on to play for the likes of Team Liquid, Misfits, Na’Vi, Team Envy (now OpTic), Fnatic, G2 Esports, 100 thieves, Guild, Cloud 9 and many more.

The COVID-19 Pandemic had been very difficult on myself personally, with many sacrifices made to ensure Vexed survived this unprecedented period, and again, I feel that I have succeeded in that.

I leave my position with the business in good stead, there are strong multi-year relationships with partners and sponsors in place, a storied competitive history and in a much better place than it was when I joined, which is all you can ask for really isn't it?

I can look back on my time here and know I’ve done it the right way and taken no shortcuts. I am proud of what we have built, and that Vexed Gaming has grown to become recognised across Europe as a reputable brand, especially in an extremely difficult and competitive industry.

From the bottom of my heart I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me or Vexed over the past 6 years, From our sponsors old and new, Previous and currently players, our fans, Tournament Operators, everyone and I hope you’ll continue to support Vexed in this next phase of the company’s journey too. Shoutout to Team Endpoint, for a rivalry that I sorely miss, and congratulations on all of your recent successes. And of course a HUGE thank you to Steve who’s been my partner in crime and been on this rollercoaster with me for 4 years now.

I have met so many people on this journey, many which I'm fortunate to now call friends. Building Vexed has not only allowed for so many incredible experiences, but has opened my eyes and helped me to grow as a person in a way I never imagined it would. I feel I have accomplished what I set out to with Vexed Gaming, and now is the right time to give someone else the same opportunity to lead Vexed into its next chapter.

As for what’s next for me - I will be returning to the Great Britain roster for Istanbul 2022 in December where I look to return with an improvement from Singapore 2021 but other than that; I need some time away to rest, recharge and to get back to looking after myself. I want to do things for myself that I enjoy - such as creating content, streaming and most importantly enjoying myself with loved ones and making up for lost time.

Much Love.
